No idea, but as I understand for most states, unless they have an office in your state, they don't charge sales tax.
What do you against dealing with the ones you listed?
Ken.

Great State of Varmint
Better query: What state do you live in? Do look for an online seller with no office or sister company in your state. I don't think I've paid state sales-tax ordering online in at least 10 years.
Of course I'm in Vermont. We don't even have traffic lights.

Why not support your local bike shops and keep the money in your community by buying form them? Sure it may cost more, but you'll help a local business stay in business and keep the people there employed, thus providing for a better community all around. Who knows it could be your purchase that helps the owner determine he or she can both pay the electric bill and keep a shop worker employed instead of being forced to choose one or the other.

Not sure about all states but I live in Nevada and am not charged sales tax by Amazon even though they have a major distribution center here. They must have made a deal with the state government as part of locating the distribution center here.
REI and Sierra Trading Post will charge sales tax on items in states where they have a retail or other business presence as will most other online sellers.

Universal Cycles and Bike Tires Direct are both based in Oregon, the land of no sales tax. (We just tax the c**p out of everything else). Universal I have had favorable dealings with. No experience with Bike Tires Direct, but personal experience with the owner leads me to believe they are reputable. And the ARE LBSs for me....

Depending on where you live, you may be responsible for coming clean on your state tax return for out-of-state "tax-free" purchases and paying directly to the state. Awfully hard for states to track, of course.

awesome answers thanks. freeshipping over 75 is always a big plus too.
a GOOD bike shop is 2 hours away, computer is much easier.
LBS'ers, remember some of us are in semi-rural areas, vermont, southern illinois, etc.

I agree with Square support you local shop. he needs the business and the sales taxes are NEEDED in your town for things you use everyday.
