Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rode, rode, rode!!!

It seems like some roadies are so infatuated by the word road that they can't get the past tense of ride correctly. I have seen 4 posts in the last 24 hours where people "road" something. I think I'm going to have to call the street a "rode" every time I post from now on to counter what you guys are doing here.

Yeah, I have nothing better to do than rant about people's grammatical mistakes. I'm at home tending to a very sick wife instead of riding, so I have plenty of time to make posts in between preparing food and spraying everything with Lysol.

You're being way too touchy about grammar. It's the internet, after all. I mean, give me a brake.

It goes beyond grammar - the education system is failing us. Too often you can ask for 3/4 of a pound of something in the deli department and get a blank stare, or hand over $1.09 for a 79˘ item, and the cashier is stumped unless the cash register does the math.

I second that, while I do not know grammar this annoys me. I like to get quarters back instead of just random change, so when I hand the cashier a $1.04 for a $.79 item and she tells me a dollar covers it and I have to emphasize I just want a quarter back. Oh well someone has to work at Wal-Mart.
