most absurd CL posting EVER??!
I just saw this listed on Philly Craigslist tonight. I would normally not post something like this, but it is seriously ridiculous! Check it out.....

For sale out of South Philly is the most beautful IRO Angus with all custom components. This bike is a size 48. The frame and fork are black without a scratch on them. Also comes with: PINK Chris King threaded headset, purple IRO hubs, pink Sugino crankset w/ purple chain, standard chrome pedals w/pink Soma toe clips, bullhorn handlebars w/ pink bar tape, front DIA-COMPE pink brake w/ chrome brake lever, CUSTOM 700 CC DEEP V WHEEL SET with purple rims (!!!), black spokes, and custom all green tires. Also comes with a purple Reload top bar pad & a pink padded Velo track saddle. This is the most outrageous and ostentatious bike and I put a TON of money into all of the bling. It has all totally color-coordinated high-end components and is jaw-dropping! It has barely been rode and the frame, fork, crankset, wheels, etc. have not a SCRATCH on them. The handlebar tape is a little dirty (no big deal) and the tires are a little dusty and need air. Also, it is configured with a front brake only and the frame is not drilled for a back brake. If you ride brakeless, the bike can easily be converted to fixed/brakeless because the Angus frameset is made to be a track bike. The cheesy roses and the smiley faces were just put there for decoration and have since been removed. If you buy this beautiful bike you are getting an amazing deal! The headset alone was close to $200 and let's not even get into the custom wheel set, hubs, and crankset. I love this bike but I am pregnant and my husband bought a car so it won't get the use it deserves in our home. This beauty will be your pride and joy, trust me! It makes heads turn. Please do not ask if I will sell the frame/fork alone or separate components, this is coming as a complete bike and nothing else. Cash only. Available for pickup out of South Philly only. If interested please respond to post or call 484-478-2585. Ask for Hallie Liebling. Thanks so much & ride safely!

For $1700, I would at least expect toe straps. I'd guess the main reason for "not getting into" the price of all the components is they don't add up to the asking price.
But sadly, apart from the flowers and the smileys, it's not much different than a lot of other bikes on the road. Er, well, on the sidewalks, mostly parked in front of the best places to be seen.

as for the IRO... sure it's all crazy colors, but they are quality components. the only thing that is REALLY crazy is the price. sorry but i don't think she would ever get more than $700 for that, max.

I like how she passes all the cost of her horrible parts anodizing onto the customer. It's like paying someone to throw up on you.

I like how the word "custom" is used 4 times in the ad but when you look at the bike it is comprised entirely of off-the-shelf components.

Its an incredible looking bike with some really nice components. but the visual is too custom for her and she will have a HARD time finding somebody with that kind of money having the same taste as her. I am sure not even she had that money as it was all pieced together, probably over time.
