Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Show off your Neo Retro road bike

I've done a search for neo retro and all that seems to come up are posts about Paul Comp. neo retro brakes. It there a thread already started that I'm missing? I'm looking for photos of modern steel framed road bikes that have a retro flavor.

I wanted this bike to look retro, but be built on newer components.

DeRosa Neo Primato, Dura Ace 7800 w/ Campy Record 10-speed crankset, not quite finished:

Nice as that Cinelli XCR is, I don't believe anything without lugs and especially with a sloping top tube should qualify as "Neo Retro", high-flange hubs or otherwise.

It is a collector's frame. Stainless Steel tubes and outrageous price.

You could have a custom Stainless frame built by someone like Carl Strong for about half the price.

The Cinelli is pretty, but its a showpiece for the company.

The blue De Rosa is a great looking bike. Only comment would be that it would look even better with a silver seat post.

I never get tired of seeing that Cinelli.

The blue Gios - is it just the photo angle or is does that aero post have a long aero section? I have two Campag Record aero posts and the aero section is around 9 cm, while I have one Shimano 600 aero post and the section is a bit longer, like 10-11cms. That looks like a much longer aero section.

Personally I find just about every Pegoretti paint job I've ever seen to be extremely ugly. Nice bikes, but the paint kills me. I guess it is a love/hate situation.

Waterford builds with Reynolds 953 (stainless). I'm sure there are other makers and, as noted above, custom builders use it too.
