Yep, Sunday on the tandem, going into a turn in the high 20's. Front tire was going flat (which I discovered a little too late) skidded and that was it. Luckily only road rash, bruised ribs, and a mild concussion for my stoker.
Competitive Cyclist. I had an Ionos helmet, and the pads were falling apart. Debated getting a new helmet, decided it still had life and just needed the pads. Crashed on the very first ride with the new pads.

I remember when I was a kid and my father thought that changing those would be a better idea than changing the whole helmet. little did he know they were always falling off nor the glue sticked to some of my hairs and it was more annoying in the end than changing for a new helmet.
So Yeah, it's taunting the cycling gods.
