I have a possible conflict that weekend, so I didn't sign up ahead of time. Won't know my availability until the day before.

cc_rider: Sorry you were locked out. The alternate ride going that day - variations on "Three Sheetz," riding out of Frederick - is a worthy alternative.
I'll be volunteering at two of the rest stops at the BRC this year: Burwell-Morgan Mill in the morning, and White Post Restorations in the afternoon. To those who go, I'll see you there!

Got my bike out of the shop yesterday, just in time for the ride. Looking forward to it. This will be my fourth. Weather looks to be beautiful!
Oh, this is how dopey I am. I knew the ride was in two separate 50-mile loops, but it didn't occur to me that I could dump my arm warmers and full-finger gloves at the halfway point, and I could get extra bars and gels at the same time, so I ended up carrying too much stuff on the first loop. This is a great opportunity to start the ride WARM and LIGHTLY LOADED

Thanks man. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket I recommend getting one of the Garmin devices - I have the Garmin 500. It's definitely worth it - I never ride without the thing and I have data for all my rides going back to March of 2008.

Rode the metric, as I am -still- recovering from IT band issues. Longest knee pain-free ride in 18 months, max speed 37.4 mph, 16.3 mph average over 65 miles, 3:58 active time. Max HR 181, ave 143. 2280 feet of climbing, max grade of 13.8%.
Pretty ride on a gorgeous day. My first time on this ride, but I'll be back, hopefully for the "Imperial" Century.
