Need help with deciding between these bikes...

or the

I have test ridden both bikes and i like the feel of them both. so it comes down to components. I am slightly leaning on the full carbon defy but the price on the allaince is tempting.
what do you guys suggest? Thanks

OK, it's been two years since I bought a Giant road bike, but last I checked, those were two different geometries. YOU need to decide which geometry you want. The DEFY is a more relaxed geometry for someone who wants a more comfortable ride. The TCR is a more aggresive geometry for someone who is, well, more aggresive. If you're into racing, go for the TCR. If you like more laid back group rides go for the DEFY. The components are not as important as deciding on the geometry you want.

I was at my lbs and tested both out. As a newbie, what was said above were accurate with what i felt riding both. But honestly im still early in the game to tell if im going racing later down the road or just a cruiser. I was told i could just lower the bar holding the handle bars if i ever wanted to race. I probably will go the defy route but i was just curious if the tcr's price/performance ratio was worth another look.

If both feel great, then go with the one that you think looks better. Or go with whichever bike you think shifts gears better.... If it was me, and all other things were considered equally, I'd go with the Defy simply because I'm not such a big fan of SRAM's double-tap shifting.

The tcr definitely has some good components but my concern with it is the alu/carbon frame. how is it compared to a full carbon?
Thinking back when I had my trek 1.5, I was more into racing. The tcr advanced 2 2010 (https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/...ed/7309/44385/) seems like a good stretch. I dont want to keep upgrading if I settled with a lesser equipped bike.
