I took your advice...
...and went out and rode my bike.
I started Chris Carmichael's The Time-Crunched Cyclist about 9 days before my first race of my (first & last) collegiate road season. That first road race was agonizing and family things kept me out of the crit & TT.
I got serious about my training for the week off, made a short season of racing a priority, and went out for two back-to-back road race top 10s, some decent TT'ing, and several crit DNFs.
Then we had another week off, during which I rested and played on my 'cross bike.
And the season finished with some admittedly un-strategic road racing (DNF), my first top 3 in the final criterium, and a fairly lazy TTT with an even younger rider on our squad.
I've been off BF quite a while, but just wanted to report that the racing has been amazing and that lots of the tips I picked up here last winter did me a lot of good.
Particularly that bit about shutting up and riding.
That is all.
