I Shaved my Butt!
Recently on long rides, I've had some butt pain. It often felt as if some hairs on my butt were being pinched or pulled. To get the pain to go away, I'd have to, for example, sit far back on the saddle and then slide forward a little. The pain would come back after a minute or two. It was a real problem.
So, as an experiment, I shaved off the hairs on my butt near my sit bones. I actually used clippers rather than a shaver. I also used a lot of butt creme before today's ride.
Today's 81 mile ride was the most comfortable ride I've had in a long time.
Is this weird, or has someone else experienced the same thing?

I have never tried shaving my butt, but I did once have an ingrown hair on my posterior which was a real PITA.

Well, I guess shaving one's ass is a bit easier than plucking it!
(Hey, what do you want from me? You can see I run marinas. That means my daily life is filled with dealing with salty old sailors. Just be glad I didn't bring up shaving his balls)

And now I need brain-bleach to clean out the image Shifty's comment has burned into my brain....
Why did I give in and read this post? Why did I give in...Why did I....I must force myself to think of puppies...or algebraic equations...Yeats poems...polishing my spokes....make it go away.......

I'll admit, similar story here. It's now part of the bi-weekly routine of clippering...head, beard, chest, etc (thankfully, no need for the back!). It all gets taken down to 1/4". If I don't, everything just gets too ape-like.

Must be a hairy guy, but to show your virility and immunity to pain,
get the bikini wax and rip it all out by the roots.
won't grow back as stubble then, perhaps..

Has to be done by an Afghan with an open razor, otherwise you're just wussy and the afterlife delights are not for you
Nether parts hairiness has a load of imperatives to be observed

I have a couple of friends that ride long distances tell be that they do indeed shave their butts in the shower. This small bit of news is a huge hammer I hold over their heads. Or if I ever revealed their names I probably would never hear the rife shot.
They tell me they never have any rash or ingrown hairs and really recommend it. What ever.
