Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which TdF Commercial was your Favorite?

At first I liked the commercial with the little kid riding the big wheel, then that got old.

Then I liked the commercial with the dog and I couldn't get that song out of my head.

Finally, my favorite of the whole TdF broadcast (on Versus anyway) was the Road ID commercial series with Bobke! Poor Bob, no one would ever go for a ride with him. I would. He still probably drop me like a hot potato, but heck yeah I ride with Bob!!

So that was my favorite. which was yours?

The Chevy Volt commercial.
I'll be glad if I never see that Izod commercial again.

Tough to pick a favourite ... there have been a few good ones. But the Skoda ad is probably my favourite. It is very well done, and one wonders if those things have actually happened on Tours.

I like the Ballarat one too ... "Create your own cycling moments". I've never lived in a place before where there have been so many relatively local cycling ads encouraging people to get out and ride.

The one about everything running on gas is clever (Nissan) but over-saturation killed it.

Izod's attempt to become hip again is sad.

You really are in dire need of a DVR / Tivo so you can fast forward through the endless commercials.

I must have tuned out at the end of that commercial every time. I thought it was a Chevy Volt commercial until I paid closer attention a few minutes ago. The guy was filling up his Volt with gas as the Leaf drove away.

Not sure what my favorite was (most likely the Nissan Leaf) but certainly the stupid Izod one was the LEAST favorite.

And 2 hours later, it shows the Volt passing the Leaf on the side of the road after it ran out of juice.

Same here, I can't even tell you what they were selling and I bet I heard it at least 10 times a stage.

I guess I'll show my age..but everytime I heard the IZOD commercial start "It's a dawning...".

I thought in my mind it should be "dawning of the age of aquarius".

None. The ads that were playing during the TdF were truly horrendous. Bike companies, RoadID, etc.. All completely lacking imagination.

Of course the exception being the Izod and Michelob ads, they were on a completely different level of horrible.

All the Bobke ads for Road ID. As for all the other ads, some were great the first week, but by the third week...ugg.

I think i will be suffering from IZOD night sweats for the next month or so.
