Shipping a Tadppole Trike
Has anyone here shipped a tadpole? What's the best method to package? FedEx/UPS or commercial trucking for best pricing?

That can't be a dropped package, you're smiling too much.
Years ago, UPS dropped and shattered a hard-to-come-by plexiglass roof for my Porsche 914. Rest assured that I was not smiling. It took me 6 long, frustrating months to get a settlement from them. That was the very last time I've used UPS.

Several over 30 years; but all were nearly impossible. Fed Ex is the worst. I sent a 2003 Catrike Speed to Arkansas. 1st year of Speed- excellent shape. Fed Ex had some moron take it apart to fit in a 24" box. Derailleurs, brakes, upholstery 'shot' when it got there. Best was a Scarab trike in a Greyhound bus- rolled in underneath only removing the flag; but that was years ago. They might not do that anymore. Tadpoles do not cram into 24" boxes. I tried selling a Catrike Pocket (for the 4th month) last week and got 1 buyer in Utah. Going through all that shipping nonsense was *it*. Just not worth the hassle anymore. Easier to chuck it.

I forget the company name, but call Hostle Shoppe in Wisconson (hostleshoppe.com) - they use a company that knows bikes. But, you'll have to box it yourself. And, it isn't FedEx, UPS or DHL.
