I've wanted one for a long time and finally found a nice one!
A 1920's French velo de course!
This one seems to be a mixture of parts but i love it.
The wheels are four speed and non original but the tyres are original red Bergougnans!
It came with a velo de ville leather seat and so i have changed it for a very early Brooks B17.
This saddle was very brittle and looked rougher than an Aligators skin.
A quick 5 minutes with sand paper and then a soaking in polish sorted that out.
A non original alloy stem came with the bike but i have replaced it with a stem from a 1970's mixte bike.
These stems are very close to period ones of that era that was available.
The crank is an Automoto example but i'm not sure if the bike is an automoto.
Anyway the photos!

Oh man. I read the headline and saw your name and just knew I was going to regret opening this thread.
I was right! Wow! Those tires really blow me away.
