Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Scrotum Woes -or- My Sack is Whack

I'm back to riding after a somewhat prolonged layoff (I've always been a yo yo rider). Nothing has changed as far as setup, equipment or shorts, yet I'm finding great annoyance from the nose of my saddle protruding into the posterior region of my, um, tea bag. This has never been an issue before, but it's becoming one now.

Suggestions?

Are you wearing cycling shorts? If not, that's your problem. If you are, you gotta get yer hand in there and pull them boys forward.

Been having the same issue lately. Nothing changed in the set up, but I think maybe I've altered my position on the seat a bit.

Get some good compression bibs and set them up. Your saddle shouldn't touch them.

Yeah, of course - high quality shorts. I'm no n00b.

The problem isn't them - it's their container.

You might consider tipping your saddle a couple degrees forward.

not a couple of degrees, that is way too much.

a half a degree to one degree. that is plenty. if there's still pain, time for a new saddle. our asses change, especially after time off the bike.

Check for a crack in the last (base) of the saddle. They do fail from time to time.

Flip your bike upside down and have a good poke around in there. I've had this happen to me and suffered for ages before figuring it out.

I have a friend who is impotent due to "HTFU". While my advise to loose weight was somewhat tongue in cheek, it could very well be contributory to the OP's issue.

However, I would never tell someone to HTFU when it comes to their manhood.

Guys, don't put your future health at risk by taking discomfort of the genitals lightly.

Put a level on the seat and make sure it is close to level and adjust from there.
