Seat Bags
Hi all,
My favorite seat bag broke a few years ago and I have been unable to find a decent replacement.
It had a quick release: a plastic clip that snapped into another clip that was fastened to a bracket on the underside of the bike seat. It was very stable and I never had to mess with threading straps under the seat.
Anyway it broke. The plastic clips snapped. I've been unable to find another one of these seat bags, even though the quick release seems superior to other bags. My wife bought it for me long ago and I think she got it at a sporting goods place, not a bike shop.
ANyway, does anyone know where such a bag might be found?

Topeak makes bags that you describe. You can find them at your LBS, REI, Dick's and Sports Chalet.

They're talking about the bag that attaches to the saddle, aka, seat bag, seat pack, saddle bag, etc.
You need to stay flexible when it comes to bicycle terms. Otherwise clipping into clipless pedals and mounting a saddle to the seatpost might cause all sorts of undue stress for you.

I liked my topeak aero wedge, but many people find it a bit large.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I've located a good replacement.
Seat bag...saddle bag...the latter reminds me of the cowboy movies I loved as a kid. But yes, the correct term for the bicycle is, of course, "saddle."
A related topic here might be: what do you carry when you ride, be it in a bag mounted beneath the saddle, a jersey pocket, or wherever...? I suppose I'm like most, with just the basics. Spare tube. Multi tool. Tire levers. Patch kit. I have a mini chain tool, too, but almost never need it.
I don't like having too much stuff in my jersey pocket. Don't like the feel of all that sag.

Don't like crap in my pockets either other than what I need. Tools in the pocket....fall...ouch. Now that bag in the pocket....maybe. But the sag and the sweat wouldn't be something I'd like. Advantage to it would be going back and forth from road bike to mountain bike though.

Nothing, yet. But I checked the REI web site and found several very similar to my old one.
https://www.rei.com/search?query=bicycle+seat+bag
There's one called a Micro Wedge Seat Pack that looks most attractive. Don't see the manufacturer.
Grazie, one and all.
