Gold Plated CCM Flyer - Incredible!
Went to share my Mom's 90th birthday with her and, upon disembarking the airplane, got a look at this incredible 1930 something CCM Flyer. Thought you might like to have a peek. It was on display in the Calgary International Airport...

My 1939 CCM "Road Racer" just got moved to the top of the "To Do" list..!

One collector had one of Torchy Peden's CCM's on display at a vintage show in Victoria in 2011. It was a bit older than that bike but much the same.

Was it bolted down?
Though I try to live my life with honor, the thought of "grab and go" did pass through my mind, and even rested there for a few moments.
Anyway, I just got back from my week long journey. I did have a new laptop with me, fitted with Windows 8, which I did not have a clue how to use. I decided to not respond to any emails since I was not sure what I was doing. Hence, my email load, tomorrow, will consume much of the day, but I still intend to get my 1939 out of The Old Shed and continue with the already started restoration...

Coupla cans of gold spray paint and you're almost there..........use wood grain contact paper on the rims.

Cool bike...here's the man posing on a rider. A little less clearance around the fork though.

This bicycle has been making the rounds of Canadian museums. It has resided at NMST in Ottawa, the Sports Hall of fame in Toronto and one of the Vancouver museums. If this is Torchy's bicycle, it is a 1938. CCM apparently produced a number of these. Forum member Oldy57 has one. A lot better than receiving a gold watch at retirement, eh?

I hope your Mom had a great 90th birthday celebration, That's quite a milestone.
My job was to guard my Mom, ensuring that no one monopolized her time during the festivities. It was really great and a special thanks must go to my sister, for all her hard work that brought my Mom's whole family together at one time.
