Schwin Paramount
Just picked this up. Everything is Campy except for the front derailleur. Will be replacing that. I took a few photos before I start to restore it. Any ideas on what year this would be from?

Good job , nice price , too ! I almost took a drive to GR to snag it , saw it shortly after it went up.

Check the left rear dropout for a serial #. Otherwise, I'm thinking mid-70s. Nice find. Chrome lugs should clean up great but be sure to wax them or something to keep rust away. Also, if it hasn't been frame-savered, I would do that also.

Great looking Paramount. You can check the datecode on the parts against the vintage Trek site. There also might be dates on the inside of the hub locknuts.

My guess based on the hubs with the extra holes between the spoke holes is 1974. The frame number is year decodable.

incazzare.
What do you mean by "restore" it? Please don't repaint it. If it was mine I'd replace the saddle, bartape, front derailleur, and then get new tires, cables, and maybe chain. Get rid of the ugly bottle cage. I'd also replace grease and bearings. Otherwise I'd leave it alone.

It is meant to be a rider, not a museum piece, so clean her up and ride! YMMV.

my name is Jim
Decals are early 70s up to maybe early 74.

I saw that on the Grand Rapids CL. I'm glad to see that a fellow forum member snagged it. Congrats!
