Dec 1 start weight: 188.6
goal: 185.0
comment: really, it will be difficult to maintain my current weight over Christmas holiday, home two weeks vacay with nothing to do but watch TV, Netlix and eat. historically, I've gained as much as 8 lbs over the two weeks end of December. But I can't put down a maintenance goal, I have to at least *try* to lose . . . and then really hope to break even or only gain a couple lbs. It will be a struggle. I'm really not very hopeful. I can't think of any strategy that will help. I guess just more veggies and TJ green powder and BC amino acids and green tea and raw almonds. argh, just writing it down, I don't feel I can do it any more.

Time to play again!
After November's dismal showing, I'm keeping the same goals for December:
Current Weight: 258.0
Goal Weight Loss: 5 (8 would be grrrrrreat!)
Miles on Bike: 100
Miles on Foot: 40
There's a 4k on the 28th I'm thinking about trying to run... we will see...

Hopefully this thread will help me be accountable this month. I've been consistently riding every week and probably would have lost lots of weight if I didn't eat like an idiot.
I'm 239lbs as of this morning
Goals for December:
229lbs
500 Miles

I didn't have much hope last month and actually met my weight goal and beat my distance so I am hoping I can do it again.
Weight now 175 goal 170
Hope to make 200 miles
I am down 27 pounds from July and feeling good! I would have never done it without riding!

I'm jumping in
Gained 2 lbs last month, so my starting weight is 313 lbs
Goal weight @ 305 lbs
No distance goal since I'll only train indoor (weight and cardio training)

First post after lots of lurking
Start weight 277
Goal: 270
Should be going to the LBS to pick up some SPD pedals/shoes and possibly a trainer. It's getting cold out here in KY.
12-15: weighed in at 270.9. I'm hoping to knock out that .9 and maintain my losses through the holiday feasting.
12-22 268.8!!! Did 7.3 miles in the extremely hilly countryside around my house today and burned off another 861 calories worth!!!
12-29: 265.5. Feeling great about the number, though I only worked out 3 times in the week prior, and I did a good-- but not great -- job of avoiding excess intake during Christmas. I hope I can carry this momentum through January!

Sunday Update:
+1lb.
Well after a monster start (on the 1st anyways), last week fell apart... then we got covered by ice ... So I've managed 24.5 miles in the saddle and a measly 3.0 miles on foot. In fact, I got up this morning to start this week off right, stepped out of the front door saw that everything was covered in ice... AGAIN... so I turned around and went back inside. On a lighter note: I'm picking up a stationary bike this afternoon. I figure if I can't get good saddle time, then I can at least get a LOT of spin time!
Also, I did enter the Starry 4K in Memphis at Shelby Farms Starry Nights (a drive-thru Christmas light show) on the 28th.

This has helped keep me on track so far so here goes.
12-1 = 234
12-8 = 232 (-2)
December goal 229 would love to get back int the 220's by the end of the year.

12-15 = 230.5 (-1.5, -3.5 month, -41.5 year)
Trying to lose as much as possible before Christmas gets here. Cookies, pies, and bite sized candy are not making things any eaiser though.

12/2: 350lbs
12/16 : 337lbs using the same scale....even double and triple checked and confirmed with my son's weight.
Reduced the carbs and I am guessing it is all water weight as it seems like a too much weight for two weeks.
Doing a great job eating as healthy as possible.
Not many miles on the bike so far but picking my days for the rest of the year.

12-22= 229.5 (-1, -4.5 month, -42.5 year)
Monthly goal is 229 so if I can loose 0.5 over the Christmas week I'll make it. -2.5 would put me at -45 for the year, but honestly as long as I don't gain this week I'll consider it a win.

Fell off the wagon over Christmas, too many cookies, pies, candy, and cider wonderful, wonderful cider. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't change a thing, I had a great time with my friends and family. Still I lost over 40 pounds this year and have gotten back to being disciplined again. I look forward to another great year of riding and weight lose.

up a few pounds from all of the Christmas cheer but the new year is a nice way to get back on the healthy eating track.

Well I totally blew it the last two weeks in December! I was down 4lbs and gained them all back. Christmas parties, New years eve snacking, leftovers and bad weather did me in. I also was 12 miles short of my goal. I started this year with a nice 29 mile ride and plan to keep it up as much as weather permits.

December was a tough one . . .
Dec 1 start weight: 188.6
goal: 185.0
Dec 31 end weight: 197.2
weight change: +8.4
I heard the range of weight gain in the US during Christmas holidays is 5-15 lbs so I am squarely in that range, and typical for my history. The discouraging thing, eh-hem, "challenge" is that it will take all of Jan and Feb, and good deal of effort to get back down to pre-holiday weight. I have my work cut out for me. Yet still the winter hunger. Historically, I've continued to gain weight through Jan and Feb so it will take some mental toughness to get back in the weight loss mode. bh ps--is January Biggest Loser posted yet?
