Univega Viva Sport 54cm , should I buy it?

I would use it for more depending how I like it, but really I want to commute a mile from my home to work and back. It's offered on craigslist for $100 currently, I've attached a photo. What would be a good price to pick it up for, or should I just wait for something better? Oh if anyone knows how old this may be roughly, that would be good to know also.

new Specialized seat, toe over clip pedals (plus the original silver Viva pedals.)

Thank you for your help everyone and anyone!

If it's the right size for you, the wheels are true and everything functions properly..............then yes.

Thanks, I am 5'9 so it may be a bit small, or perfect. I think I had a 58 before and it was a tad big

Same here. 58's definitely too big for me.

For $100 this bike is a very good if not assume deal. I'm seeing a OK frame decent alloy cranks and wheels nice suntour shift goup, nice alloy bars stem and fluted seatpost with ok seat. The basic parts are worth more than $100 so it is a no brainer if it fits.

If it fits and is in ready-to-ride condition, yes, get it!

FWIW, I'm 5'8" with a relatively long torso and ride a 23"/58cm. The next size down was 21" and I felt too cramped.

As you can see by my signature, I have a Univega Viva Sport - mine is a '84.

If you have normal proportions for a male of 5 foot 9 that bike should be a rather good fit and at $100.00 it is a great deal.
