Look 695 Aerolight, Colnago C60 or something else?
I was involved in a near t-bone collision with a car earlier this week. As a result, my 2012 Look 695 was deemed totaled. I have a claim filed with my insurance company for the bike and their policy is to replace with the same model if possible otherwise something comparable. I was able to price out a C60 with SRAM Red 22 for slightly cheaper than what my 2012 695 would retail for if it were sold as a brand new bike today. On the other hand, a brand new full build 695 aerolight from Look prices in at almost $2k more than my original Look and the fully built C60! Regardless of price, I'm pretty sure I'll get reimbursed for whichever direction I choose to go.
With that being said, I loved my Look. I thought it felt great on the road and was comfortable enough as a high end racing bike. The only things I didn't like were the saddle clamp and the fact that if I ever needed work on the crank I needed to find a Look dealer. Look dealers seem to come and go around Vegas.
With the C60, I don't have to worry about any integrated/proprietary components. But it's so new that there aren't any available to test ride. Reviews on the bike seem to have an equal number of pros/cons.
Should I stick with Look since I know it and am very comfortable with it? Should I jump to the Colnago? Or is there some other brand that I should definitely consider at this price point? I have SRAM Red and the insurance company is aware of this, so I don't have the option to go to a cheaper frame with Di2 Durace.
If someone was going to pay for a new build to include SRAM Red 22, carbon clinchers (I had Reynolds, but Zipp 404s price out about the same as my 66s), and a frame of your choice, what would you build? One of the mechanics at the Bike shop which now carries Look was having a major love affair with the Cervelo R5 saying it's the best thing he's ever ridden. I don't think a Cervelo falls in the same league as a Look 695 or a Colnago C60.

What mr dtrain says about not deciding on something different without being able to test ride it (or some very similar model) first is very germane. Chances of test riding a C60 may be very slim however.
But...being the proud owner of a both Parlee Z5 SLi and Colnago C59, if I could only have one bike in this price range it would be the Parlee Z-Zero. People that I've met recently that are riding Look often say....meh, not the greatest...

Personally, I would go for the C60. Just an opinion since you asked!
