Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is it "duh" or "doh"?

This is really important!

I say "duh". Do the people who write "doh" actually say "duh"? The spelling seems to me to be split about 50/50. Let's see.

Different words. "Duh" is said to others, when they are being oblivious. It is something of an insult. "Doh" is said to ourselves, when we see how oblivious we have been. It is self-reproaching.

I think they're supposed to be two different words. I gather that Duh is pejorative while Doh is a reaction, functioning more as an expletive.

Wow, I'm so glad I asked. I just read that duh is from the early '60s while doh came from Homer Simpson. Never would have known. Thanks Roll, now I can get on with my day. Okay, Billy, lock it up!

Sorry, the question was correctly answered, the rest of the responses are purely superfluous.
