Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I once had a Truvativ Triple Crank that was a P.O.S.

Now I hate all Truvativ products. Unfair? Probably.

I've heard the non drive crank can come loose, but also that it might be user error. It would be a cheap and effective way to keep my build rolling though...

It should be about the same thing as the Sram S300. The S300 has the same chainrings as the Rival crank, but the Rival crank is a step up with hollow arms. And the tourque spec on the bolt that is with the none drive side arm is really high, so crank down on it like you mean it.

It's a good crank. SRAM used to make (and probably still does) some ****ty triples for the OEM market, although I seem to notice FSA has that market cornered now. I use one of those cranks on my city commuter, and it shifts perfectly with a KMC chain and otherwise 105/Ultegra drivetrain.

I had one come stock with my 08 Schwinn Peloton. Full 105 except for this crank. IT looked nice and performed even better.

For 45 bucks from that site... a damn good value!

I used one for a couple of yr.s They're stiff and look good, and not too terribly heavy. Just be sure to blue Locktite on the crank arm bolt. The arm is held on by this one bolt (no pinch bolts) and it will loosen.

I have some Truvativ Elita cranks (not sure what year) that are 50/36. They are pretty stiff (could also be the bike), however I wish they were a little stiffer. Shifting is great. At first I had some problems, but after messing with the FD, I got it shifting pretty nicely.

Reporting back that the crank kicks ass! Major ass for less than 50 bucks. No issues since installation.
