Google is pretty good at covering CL... search for the body of the ad or something like that phone number and it pops right out.

One Vainqueur road frame including some parts. Nice lugged steel frame, which is straight, still has some of the components including handlebars and cottered cranks. Forks are bent.
Judging by the weight the frame is NOT 531 and says made in Portugal possibly late 70's early 80's.
55-56 cm seat tube and same for the top tube center to center.
There is also some scarring, paint chipping, and some rust. Bike comes AS-IS. Please feel free to ask any questions ans even make an offer. Thanks!

I've decided this seller is a tool:

He listed this bike earlier. It had a badly and obviously bent fork. The Craigslist police called him on it. He's now bent the fork back (badly) and deleted his old photos.
However, you can still see the rust on the fork from where it was bent. And if you look at his third and fourth photos, you'll notice the poor alignment of the lower head cup and the fork crown race. Looks like a bent steerer tube to me. Probably bends in the top and down tube as well. I mean, the fork was really bent back. Note no mention of the damage anywhere in the ad.
Previously, this seller decribed a huge dent at the junction of the down and head tube of a bike as a "cosmetic dimple." And would not adjust his listing.
Go ahead, be my guest, flag this ad.

Some people on the craigslist here have been trying to sell an ugly miyata 310 for a month or two, they initially listed it at $300, then relisted at $600, $800, now it's down to $500. Absolutely insane.

I will bet that if you ask him a more legit question (like, how insane are you?) he wouldn't put it in the auction listing.
Big frame. No matter how much he glosses it isn't worth a quarter of his asking price.

According to that 'question' he 'restored' it? I thought a restoration meant you at least tried to stay at least period correct. It does look like a nice bike, probably $300 to $400 any day around here but it looks to me like he's used the cheapest gumwall tires, those annoying SR pedals that won't stay upright, a modern saddle, and he didn't even bother to clean off those tape stains on the left chainstay when he detailed it. If your going to ask crazy money, then make it perfect, 100% minty new again. I get the impression that some people just don't see details. I went to look at an 80's Trek that was in the paper here last week, it said mint condition, never ridden. They failed to say its been stored in the shed with a leaky roof for 20 or so years. The frame had freeze splits in it.

I want to offer my services to ensure he does not sell the bike: for $100 an hour, I'll put out on every cycling forum there is that this bike is way overpriced and the seller knows it and will laugh - along with all the rest of us - at anyone who buys it.
