Haha, yeah it looks like the previous owner had a thing for part swapping, he also changed out the bars and stem to Bontrager Race X, changed saddle and seatpost, and like I said before neither wheel is original (I think one tire might be, though). The front 105 derailleur even appears to be from a different model year from the rest of the 105 stuff. Good thing I'm not anal retentive about stuff matching!

Well, I only get the el-cheapo $6 aluminum ones from the LBS, but if you're lucky, sometimes they come in other colors besides plain aluminum.

On my previous bike I had Red cranks, and I really liked the stiffness of the outer ring in shifting. I actually left the inner chainring as the original rival ring and just threw on the outer; I figure the differences between the two inner rings are undetectable anyway. I really like the look of the red outer ring, so that helped the decision, too.
