I have one too! But it's in a bit better shape than the other 87 Tempos in here...

Can't wait to see how your repaint comes out! I'm always impressed with the skills and eye for design on display in these forums.

Nice job! I can't make out details, but from here it looks pretty good.

Here's my daily commuter with a mish mash of parts. I personally love the teal/white color scheme.

It's a slightly heavy frameset, but has a nice balance of stiffness and springy steel feel. Mine would be near perfect if it were a size smaller.

Nice - how was the conversion from DT shifters? I don't want brifters, but I'd like more comfortable brake hoods than the little ones it came with.

Izumi Pearl has a color in their current women's line-up that matches the teal perfectly, so I'm working on getting as much matching stuff while it's available because I am a vain, silly creature.

These hoods are wider and more comfy- Tektro R200L's:

I set it up with brifters from day one so can't compare on this particular bike, but the biggest gains are the 3 extra cogs in back and a "modern" free hub (tricolor 600). NYC is flatlander heaven but it helps to have a 42x27 for hauling heavy groceries and a 52x12 for running around town.

Those Tektros rccadr posted up are nice. I have the short reach version on another bike with stem shifters. Much nicer when riding on the hoods compared to older aero levers.

now I see why the RC Doctor doesn't like my bike he's afraid I'll steal his groupset! Those hoods do look wide and comfy.. so who else has a Tempo?

They're all schexy, but I especially like the cream/almond one with the brooks and brown bar tape. Also the kicky blue and yellow.

Requisite posting of my dad's bike which got me into this whole lunacy:

YES please! I've only seen photos of them on ebay and then they disappear quite quickly.

rccadr - You weren't kidding about the annual tempo rebuild! Nice work, sir!

They're all ones I've built. The black one is this year's 'Tempo re-imagined'. I do one each year as one of my personal riders. The cream one was a design exercise- meant to be somewhere between modern and tweed ride. The medium blue one was built for a lady in DC- I sell a bunch of bikes with 52-56cm frames to DC women who commute to work. The dark blue one was a custom order from a guy on my Bike MS team- it's also 9 speed Shimano 5501.

I have more, will dig out some other pictures later.

Out of curiosity, what is it about the Tempo, specifically, that makes them desireable for you builds? I'm still a bike newbie, and I'd love to learn more about my bike and others like it.

I forgot to ask before, where's this slightly heavy frameset business coming from? My 23 inch version was 5lbs on the scale, and the fork was 760 grams.
