That's what I meant the wheels. I've never heard of qr skewers getting stolen but wheels held on only with quick release skewers get quickly stolen all the time.

I've heard that lights get stolen off bikes all the time in Manhattan.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant. I do lock my wheels, as I mentioned, but I'm still wondering if one day I'll get pranked by someone who walks off with the skewer itself out of spite.

Suppose I should get actual bolt-on hubs for any replacement rims.

Damn, all this makes me fearful of leaving any $1k+ bike outside especially with accessories like lights and bags. And if anyone fails to steal it they'll get mad and wreck it. It's a real lose-lose.

Someone stole the QR skewers, front and back, off my daughter's bike. They were nice Campy ones.

She had to walk home.
