Not long after I posted that I scored your exact same bike (22" '96 M400 in eggplant purple) locally. The previous owner set it up with SRAM grip shifters, road cluster (short range gearing, no granny gear) and slicks for street riding. Perfect set up for me. I ride the h3ll out of it, it's my go-everywhere bike.

Scratch that, it's a '94 M300, but almost nothing is stock on it, so model number/year is pretty meaningless in this case--only the purple paint is very similar to the scheme on mobilemail's bike!

I don't recall that frame color equipped with Campy. Could have been built from a bare frame. Note replacement fork too.
Edit: Looking at old catalogs, it might be a 1985 SR500/600 frame, that would have come with Suntour Cyclone

This is one of mine , '92 Criterium model -- used only occasionally as it is a hair big for me -- it is the 54.5 size - photos taken after i dug it out of my storage locker, overhauled the bearings and put on new tires -- the seat/bars relationship is typically not that high -- i just had to expose enough post to lock it in my workstand --- A simple, stiff, effective bicycle
This is also a personal bike ---'88 Criterium model --- i'm an insurance adjuster and travel a lot - hurricanes, floods, etc. --- This bike rode shotgun in the back of my truck for years so i could get exercise while on the road ---
Curiously this bike has a Shimano 105 sticker on the chainstay and I have seen several others with this paint scheme in 105, but this one is all 600 tri-color -- down to the headset and bottom bracket- rims are OEM style Wolbers as well ---- bike has been subjected to its namesake - criteriums- many times along with group rides and other fun stuff , -- but unlike the black bike, i have never laid it down and it still looks great
----- I need to drag it out , blow the cob webs off and take some better pics of it -- sometimes it just doesnt seem like there are enough hours in the day though (this i type while i am goofing around on the inter-web - LOL )
The next 2 are not mine -- what i mean by that is that , while technically i own them, - i bought them for the sole intent of stripping the nice brifter setups for other projects (i at times find nice bikes that way -but these are both 56's and i have no chance of ever being comfortable on bikes that big ----
'92 or 3 R900 with 8 speed tri-color brifter group -- paint is rough, but most of the damage is shop wear as i could find no real dents of any kind on the beast. The 600 parts are slated to build up my old GT Edge with period correct Shimano parts -- that bike lived a hard hard life and its going to be retired to wall -hanger status. That Control Tech post is mid 90's perfection for a GT road bike for sure --- When i score an old bike i am always fascinated by the way the bars and stem end up being completely dorked out -- the guy i got this bike from was 5'11 or so, so a 56 should have fit him fine without having to turn up the bars and reverse the post --- oh well
--- This R600 doesnt look that old, but its an '00 or '01 model --- great bike - actually wish it was a 53 -- but que' sera' sera' --- This bike is already stripped -- parts are destined to round out an early 90's Bottecchia - just waiting on an ITalian octalink bottom bracket to build it up as a nice ugly day bike
Anytime i show a pic of a "parts bike" i always to try and show a pic of the projected destination so people will understand why i take apart perfectly good bicycles --- the Cannondales are making noble sacrifices to get these 2 finished --- and hopefully - someone elese will be able to use the framesets for something

Cannondale Criterium Series bikes ROCK. Nothing compares, once you thrash one on a short and fast ride, you will fully understand why they exist. The harder you ride it, the more you appreciate it.

Forgot I had this fuzzy shot. '93 T1000. Mixture of Coda and XT parts. Went to Europe twice for month long tours. Awesome with heavy loads, almost unrideable unladen.
