Below the 'b' looks to be the side of a club/clover. And is that a spade on the side of the seat cluster? Looks like a quality frame. MauriceMoss is going to be busy.

I would want to know more about the black spot on the side of the seat lug in the fuzzy first photo. I hop that the home-made solution to a slipping seat post was not a set screw or through bolt. With luck it's a rather unconventionally located lug cutout.

edit: oops, sorry. I just realized that P!N20 already pointed this out.

Fork crown looks like a Dave Moulton Recherche', although I'm certain the frame is not.
Looks cool. I would definitely go and check that one out, if it was local to me. Very interesting.

It was listed in Indy for $50, good price just for the parts. I planned on getting it today since I was busy yesterday. Evidently someone had an idea what it was, sold quick.

Not surprising.
Maybe they will post here, and we'll get a chance of figuring out what it is.

good eye, @velomateo: the fork crown is certainly one used by Dave Moulton on his Recherche' forks, but is that his own signature engraving on top, or an off-the-shelf crown? Not one I can ID either way.

is there a link to this ad? (FB Marketplace?)
I can't find much on the Berretto brand except it MIGHT be made by a Brett Richardson in Brisbane AUS, who seems to have favored Reynolds tubing, here's one of his track frames:
https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/berretto-track-16544

and of one of his earlier seatclusters that does feature both the spade and "B" cutouts, plus similar shot-in stays:

The owner told me he contacted Brett about the bike to confirm it.

Nuts. An Aussie frame pops up and I don’t recognise it.

Although I’m impressed that the buyer either knew or found out what it was and made contact with Brett.

Well it does have Berretto stamped on the bottom bracket.
Nice to have better pics. Still not a bad price for an interesting frame.

well one mystery solved (and I also couldn't read that name on the BB shell, was too blindsided by the "Italian" spades to imagine anything from exotic Australia!)

But for my own knowledge-base and curiousity: who knows what make/model the forkcrown is?
Clearly one that both Brett R. can get in Brisbane, and Dave Moulton in California
