NASA wheels

i wouldn't mind trying out these tires, gator skins don't compare...wonder if we will ever see these someday.

NiTiNOL, never heard of it until now. Unbelievable. Huge application potential. I'll take a set for each bike, please.

I can see having a NiTiNOL core and a rubber cap. When the rubber wears out, recap the tire in the convenience of your own home and hit the road a few minutes later. Tubeless gone wild!

Could a conventional wheel with NiTiNOL spokes be self-trueing?

Hmmm... Q:? Wonder how the ride quality and handling would be different from pneumatic tires on varied surfaces and purposes like World Tours vs beach cruisers?

Interesting. If it gets a few dings and divots on/in the tread area you just hit it with a propane torch and it would be good as new. I wonder how long it would last until the metal just gets too thin and needs to be replaced?

I didn't watch the entire video; but just in case it wasn't mentioned, Nitinol is a titanium alloy.

Nitinol is what Flexon memory metal eyeglass frames have been made from for decades. I did break a pair of flexon glasses after 4-5 years just from the slight bending at the bridge from daily cleaning of the lenses, a very common issue with them.
