Damnit damnit damnit. I guess my wallet is not as thin as it could have been if I had seen this first... I don't really need another Brooks, but this is a good deal.

I guess it's small minded to be irked but I'd like to think membership has it's privileges including buying parts. Whatever...

I can't blame anyone for getting there first....It happens all the time.
I would agree that it would be nice to see what things actually sell for and do not sell for etc. Sometimes we think our things are worth more than what the market says. There was a nice PKN Comp. that languished at half the price that some on the forum think their PKN's are worth.
Will the other member sell his nearly new Brooks for 45.00? Let's see, and if Habiano gets it, no sweat....he is a member of the forum....IMHO, time in grade does not equate to privilege.

Not a member. Saw this happen a few years ago when an enthusiast and a nice guy bought most offerings of quality asap. Fair enough, deep pockets or not, he was convivial and posted frequently. I just get ruffled when inexpensive items get cherry picked by guys who don't contribute. Flipper.

Hi Clubman,
Sorry you got ruffled. I am a member, although I don't post much. I do not flip bikes. I'm 63 and have only sold 2 bikes in the last 40 years. I don't sell on ebay, or anywhere else for that matter. I've got about a dozen c&v bikes I like to work on, and ride when I can.
When I see something for sale here, if I can use it and justify it, I offer to buy it. But nobody has to sell to me if they don't want to. I don't see what the problem is.
Seems like it should be a transaction between a buyer and a seller.
By the way, this saddle was posted for 7 hours before I bought it.

We feel a bit like an extended family here, but it is a market. Enjoy the saddle.

clubman, I'm another that doesn't feel its a flipper(s) that is haunting the FS subform. As said above, its pretty much a large family here, lots of working together on our various builds and such. I've come to the forum early some mornings, and will see a title that looks to be an item I want/need, and its today's date. And as you found, its already gone. I guess the night owls have their benefits when they don't sleep, or perhaps they have beneficial time zones.
It can be kind of frustrating at times, but to me its as fair a sale forum as you will find. We police ourselves most of the time, if something seems out of line, or a non-platinum member tries to list some things, it gets reported using the "!" icon, and it gets moderator attention. we're far from perfect, but its fairly well done and runs smoothly 99.99% of the time.
BTW, glad you peruse the C&V Forum some, be careful though, its addictive and you could score a bike, or three......

I apologize for deleting prices, never really thought it being an issue. I have no problem leaving prices.

I almost started a thread asking why BF sellers delete their prices after a sale. I've always left mine thinking they'd be a good reference point for others. Congrats on the sale BTW.

I don't think it was relevant, I rarely sell stuff at my listed price.

I'm 7 years on the forum and somewhat prone to over-posting. This is one of those occasions. Sorry to muddy the waters. Case closed.

^^Well color me clueless. I've almost always paid listed price on these boards and it didn't occur to me there was that much dealing going on. I have gotten a handful of "would you takes" on my listings which I politely decline.
