Lotus Supreme, 1982 time capsule
What would be the value of this beauty? This bike was in storage for 38 years, has never been ridden before.

You'll have to advertise it on ebay to get the highest price. Considering it's all Dura-Ace and, Tange 1 frame I'd say the very lowest price for it would be about $425 and, the price could go as high as $1K.

Man, I don't know the value but I sure think that's a pretty sweet looking bike. Stored that long, I'd think everything would have to be taken apart, degreased, fully serviced, and such. So that may effect the value if the buyer is someone like me that would want to buy it. Now a buyer who wants to hang it on a wall and admire it may not be so concerned about such things.

If the tubes hold air they'll be fine. The tires might be another issue.

That looks like a $400 bike to me. It has tubular tires (sew-ups) and it also has those Shimano pedals that require a really big hole in the crankset (or an adapter to fit normal 9/16" pedals). I'd also rather not have the bearings disassembled and redone by a non-professional.

I don't have a sense of its ebay value if sold with patience, but I'd buy that at $400 all day long, if I were buying more bikes, which I'm not. My guess - Ramzilla's post is more accurate - variable value, will depend on patience, marketing, and market. I think I could get $700 - $800 in mine, if patient. I think you could on ebay as well.

It’s in pristine condition, and collectors love that early Dura Ace stuff. I’d say ask between $2,500 and $3,000. Don’t sell yourself short. Quality and scarcity drive up value.

I don’t think that would ever sell at that price. Over 2k is the province of top end, older Italians. In nice shape.

At those prices you can get much better vintage steel bikes such as Colnago, for starters. You can ask whatever you want, what matters is what someone is willing to pay. When I see an ad where someone is asking a preposterous price I click away never to return.

Nice, but, if I see an add saying unridden and then see the grease on the chainrings/cogs that show me otherwise, I click away without looking further.
