Northern VA-Lorton, Springfield, Occoquan riders

Hi all,

I'm looking for a group to ride with in the Lorton/Springfield/Occoquan areas of Northern VA. I ride at an A/BB/B pace. I've been doing a 22 mile route from my place (Lorton Station) out to 123 and west to FFX pkwy and then back. I would like to hook up with a group or create one to get some longer miles in and take advantage of the "safety in numbers" thing.

Interested? Lemme know.

I live off of Franconia Rd and usually do a 32 mile loop (FFX pkwy to Ox rd to Lorton Rd to Telegraph to Beulah). I'd love to do a group ride sometime. I'm not sure what my pace classification is but the whole loop usually takes me just under 2 hours (~17mph) including all the stops for lights and such. There are bike trails/lanes the whole way so it's pretty safe.

I'm not around on the weekends until late Novemebr so keep me in mind for any rides after that. I live in Kingstowne.

There's a year round ride with a group called the Lard Butts that I used to ride with until my weekend conflicts. They meet at Ft Hunt Park Sunday at 7:00 am (changes to 7:30 when it's dark at 7:00) and generally rides along the Parkway and out to Lorton, Gunston, etc. The rides are 30-50 miles at a 18-19 mph pace.

I feel for you NoVa guys. Having driven through and around that area, I would not want to have to bike up there.
