Cannot believe this bike is still on the market..
This paramount has been on the market for a few weeks, maybe a month. Paramount PDG + modern 105. If it was my size, I'd jump on it..

Probably the size. The component group is good but not styling. That splatter paint...

It doesn't surprise me I saw a similar Paramount same model excellent condition but with original shifters sit on CL in Denver for over a year at $400.

It's that skyward pointing handlebar that's keeping the buyers away, I bet.......Oh, and maybe the ocean backdrop, unconsciously= lots of corrosion?? Unless, of course, that's one of the great lakes.....

I dunno. The paint is ugly and it's small.
For the record, Chombi, I think that handlebar is fine! I like it angled a little up so the part of the bar leading to the hoods is almost flat.

When the economy trickles down from the Wall Street people, the collector market will swing upwards! Have patience, things will be great even for a Paramount PDG with entry level 105's.

Fwiw.
Our cl is so clogged with overpriced "collectible" bicycles, it has turned me off but good.
I hardly look anymore.

The STIs are 10 years old and only 9 speeds, which is pretty much what new Sora is up to now. The components aren't worth a whole lot, although I'm sure they work fine. It also has a unicrown fork.

Unicrown could mean minus 50-100 bucks instantly in most C&V circles...... They are kind of the "Pajama pants" of bikes.....they work good and feel good enough, but dang, they just don't look that good after some years, especially on a road race bike.....to the point of some asking, "What were they thinking??!"

IMHO the seller needs to take a clean picture. Remove the bags and bottles, take the picture against a nice backdrop that shows off the bike. Also, take the pic on the drive side. That said, the price is high, but not crazy high, I think it will sell for $400.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. It was a PDG 7 I think. Originally had 600 Tricolor but mostly replaced by 10 speed 105. The unicrown fork was ugly but the rest of the frame was pretty nice. It was an attractive lavender color and had diamond reinforcements for the bottle cage mounts, brake bridge, etc. Also nice internal brake cable routing on the top tube.

for $40 I still would not be too thrilled at the though of buying it.
The frames too small for me, I don't think the frame would sell well on its own. I don't want to ride a bike with that groupset, sure it works but I have other bikes/groups I would rather ride. Ok at $40 I could make some money parting it out but it would require some time/effort/ boxing and postage costs.
This bike fall between vintage and modern. Its too modern to be a classic and vintage cool bike. yet too vintage to be good to use at racing, its steal.

Only the Waterford Paramounts. The series Paramounts are a different animal entirely. Now I have seen plenty of them go for more than the $180 to $250 mark, I would consider that price range for a series 5 or higher to be way low. Series 2 and 3 dip into that range.
