***I have been riding this as a road bike (which it is) for the last 1.5 yrs, then i decided to try some cross tires about a month ago, and they fit great! Once I knew that worked, I decided to Get some extra wheels and a cassette so I can easily switch with no tire changes. (2015 Jamis Quest Comp). Overall, I have about $1160 for the Bike, extra wheels, cassette, and tires, and pedals. Now I have 2 bikes for the price of one!

Older steel frame (Cyclepro was a mail order west coast shop that used to sell Nishiki/Giant).
Mavic wheelset/700x32 Lifeline Commuter tires for general usage
Mavic Classics Pro wheelset/700x32 Ritchey Speedmax for dirty stuff
components are a mix of XTR, Shimano and Campy
2x9 Gevenalle Shifters
Front/Rear commuter lights
Ritchey handlebars

Here is my pony:
Surly Karate Monkey (old 29er version) on 45mm Specialized Electrak Armadillo tires. The tires are fast on the road, faster on gravel, and I have literally ridden over shards glass without a single flat

2016 Jamis Renegade Exile, this is my first gravel bike and I am in love. I mainly ride chip seal roads and riding them on 23mm tires at 100psi was getting to me. I have done 3 rides so far totaling 90 miles and I end each ride with a smile on my face. I've changed the stock saddle to a Fizik Arione and plan on upgrading the Claris components to Ultegra. This one is a keeper for sure, and right now my main ride. I was really surprised how much it feels like a traditional road bike, pretty quick and agile for a cumbersome looking machine.

I'm new to cross/gravel bikes but I'm loving it so far. I have a 1989 carbon trek road bike and a heavy single speed 29er and really wanted something that was sturdy and could go anywhere.
I ended up with a Felt F1X. Wheelset is HED Belgium C2 rims, Chris King R45 hubs and WTB cross boss tires 700x35 tires. Ritchey carbon seatpost, selle italia signo saddle, Deda Elementi zero 1 stem and Avid shorty ultimate brakes.

Updated my Nashbar CX (Actually replaced the entire bike). Sora Groupset, Spyre Brakes, Cowbell 3 bars, 27.5 x 2.0 Panaracer Comet tires on cheap, heavy duty Weinmann rims. Had to go with the steel fork to clear the tires & the rear is about maxed out. Am happy.

Tank is a good way to describe it, and not just because it's heavy (though I can shoulder it for about a minute). The big tires almost makes me feel dumb for thinking that I needed a hardtail MTB when I sold my rigid one. The more I know.....

Can't remember if I already shared my bike here but since I did some modifications here's an update.
Finally, I haz discs! I am using TRP Spyre and Shimano 160mm rotors. Also, new tyres (Challenge Paris Roubaix)! I wanted a more road-oriented tyre since I mainly ride in the city, with some unpaved sections on my commute. This way I can leave my semi-knobby tyres (Duro Ellie Mae) exclusively for gravel rides. These tyres *feel* so much faster, I have no idea if they're actually improving my speed lol. I read mixed reviews about their flat protection but so far so good.

All-City Space Horse. Pretty simple... 3x9, Tiagra/Soma/FSA. Team Vision 25 wheels (suprised they held up). Got to try out these new Kenda Flintridge 700x40 on a 13 mile stretch of the Arizona Trail this weekend. Chunks of razor sharp rock, loose gravel, sand, thorns... underneath my 250lbs of rider weight. They held up like champions!

Yes I need an upgrade! Notice the 15mm wrench on the floor in case I have a flat! About to build up a grinder. Thinking BMC as I have a brand new Sora 2x9 groupset in my garage and a handbuilt set of HED Plus Belgians.

Bone stock 2016 Raleigh Roker Sport. Don't tell my wife I bought the carbon when I told her I was buying aluminum.
On the maiden voyage it started shifting progressively worse, so I have some work to do on the Tiagra drivetrain. It's no Ultegra that's for sure.

Updated pic. There must have been a lot of cable stretch b/c I had to really crank on the FD to get it to shift properly this morning. Come to think of it, I had to do that with my Ultegra 6800 road bike too. Probably not exclusive to Tiagra.

First ride after making any big change to the drivetrain or brakes, always carry tools to make adjustments as parts and cables settle in. (heck, always carry tools anyways, but especially then)
