the only issue i would have with it is that...

the only issue i would have with it is that pulleys can pick up a lot of crap and road grit, and a thicker lube would just hang on to all that. i still think it'd be ok though. give it a shot.

if your shifter isn't indexed, it should work--the range of your shifter's motion will be limited by the limiting screws. if it's indexed, it probably won't work in indexed mode because of the cog...
