I went with a SRAM Force compact crankset to go with my dura-ace groupo. So far I love it. shifts great... and now that RED is out... you can usually find one pretty cheap on eBay with BB.

Full Dura Ace with a SRAM Force Compact on mine. Live in the Western NC Mountains... lots of climbing. The Force crank works well with the DA, looks great... and is light.

odd shifting and slipping can also be a result of a bad link in your chain. If you're using a shimano chain, often the connecting pin does not get pushed in completely and you get a "dead link"....
